What are Chakra points and Chakra balancing

THE CHAKRA SYSTEM
Knowledge of the Chakra System comes from ancient Indian texts and describes energy centres in the body, with seven major points arranged along the spinal column.
These seven Chakras are used in healing.
Each Chakra point has its own name and relevant colour, which relates to certain areas within the body when healing is being administered.
The Chakra Points are:
The root base/ Base Chakra
The root centre is seated at the base of the spine.
At this level the energies manifesting in the human system have reached their slowest rate of vibration. The vibration of energy in the human system, through the chakra, produces an experience, which in Hindu terminology is called "Tattwa" and in western terms an "Element".
The element of the root chakra is the quality of solidity, thus the earth element.
This chakra naturally rules all that is solid in the body such as bones, teeth and nails.
The sense of smell is associated with this level.
The colour red should be used when healing in this area, for the hips, knees, ankles, all joints and bones.
The Sacral centre / Splenic Centre
The Sacral Centre is at the level of the sacrum on the spine.
At this level we have the experience of fluidity in ourselves. This is called the element of water.
The colour orange should be used in any illness such as chest infections, gallstones, Crohn's Disease, and bowel upsets. Emotional problems can also be associated with this area.
The Solar Plexus
The Solar Centre is located on the spine at the level of the solar plexus.
At this level we experience the quality of expansiveness, warmth, joviality in ourselves.
This chakra therefore is the seat of the element of fire in our nature. The sence of sight is derived from the activity of this chakra.
The colour yellow is used here to cover the whole nervous system, diabetes, constipation, and when healing rays are centred on the liver, stomach and intestines, the colour is used to purify the whole system at once.
The Cardiac Centre
The Heart Centre is located on the level of the breastbone.
At the heart level we experience the qualities of airiness, mobility, gentleness and lightness, these are the elements of the Air and is expressed in relationships or sympathy.
The sense of touch is derived from the element of Air.
The colour green is used here for illness connected to the heart, chest area, blood pressure, headaches, influenza, ulcers, cancer (benign and malignant). It restores harmony to the whole system.
The Throat Centre
The Throat Centre is located on the spine at the level of the throat.
At this level we experience the quality of space alone. This is the element of Ether.
The colour blue should be used for all kinds of throat troubles, mumps, measles, stings, itching and children's ailments.
The Brow Centre/Third Eye
The brow Centre is located between the eyebrows.
The function of the brow is common and control. We cannot command and control the whole personallity or lower self. At this level we experience mentation... a flow of mental images and abstract ideas continually coming and going in the mind.
The colour used here is indigo. The organs of sight and hearing come under this chakra. Use the colour for healing any ear, nose and throat problems, disease of the lungs, asthma, dyspepsia and deafness.
The Crown Chakra/Highest Chakra
The Crown Centre is located at the top of the head corresponding to the Pineal Gland.
It is the seat of the highest frequency of energy vibration in ourselves.
This vibration is also depicted by artists as a "Halo" surrounding highly evolved or holy people. This also refers to the outpouring of spiritual energy through The Crown Centre.
The colour violet is used in healing this area. It is used for the treatment of all mental and nervous illness, rheumatism, concussion, tumours, cer bospinal meningitis, kidney and bladder disease.
